They certainly are cheaper than their printed copy. eBooks offer the convenience of size and portability in that you can store your own personal library of eBooks on your PC or your hand held device that you can take along.
Bookmiles.com operates as a marketplace for buying and selling eBooks. While buyers can browse or search and buy eBooks for instant download, it permits authors or publishers to register and upload their own eBooks and, subject to Site Admin’s approval, make it available for purchase and download.
Currently set-up for free listings, you may decide to charge for listing anytime you wish. Say, you decide to charge $10 for a listing. 100 listings per month will bring in $1,000; 250 listings per month will bring in $2,500; 500 listings per month will bring in $5,000; so on so forth. Depending on the exigencies of the market, you can increase or decrease the fee as needed. You can have featured listings and charge a higher price.
Site visitors can make comments and rate the eBooks greatly adding to the content. Ratings can be in the form of stars, numbers, blocks, up/down, plus/minus, etc with the range set, e.g. 1 to 5, in the admin panel. Ratings are logged both by Cookie and IP number to prevent from misuse and duplicate rating by the same person.
The site has a superb revenue model not requiring any stocking and shipping of books physically. With almost zero overheads, all you pay is for hosting and renewal of the domain names.
